{57/365} Preparation I've been a little preoccupied with the hurricane that's headed towards us. I keep watching the weather hoping that something is going to change and we're only going to get a light mist (yeah, right). My husband and I have been taking some steps to prepare our house for the hurricane. We've been purchasing bottled water and I've been putting Brita filtered water in every container I can find. I'm pretty sure that we'll be set for a few days, water wise. I also brought all my precious plants into the basement and we plan on bringing the deck furniture down there too. According to the NOAA, the eye is supposed to pass to the East of us on Saturday, so we're going to get pounded with rain and not so much wind. I'm OK with that, as long as our power doesn't go out and our sump pump doesn't stop working (I'm crossing my fingers). I'm pretty terrified of this. I've never been through a hurricane like this before. Grey water sump/filter Another view of the filter and sump. It is constructed from 100mm pipe and screw cap fittings with a 50mm end cap siliconed and riveted to the 100mm end cap and a hole cut out to let the water through. The filter is made from a section of 150mm pipe cut out and some nylon fly screen siliconed in place.
